Bio:  When I started the first grade my father got me into drumming.  Already an exceptional drummer himself, my father set me up with my own drum kit right across from his.   When my father returned from work each day we would spend the evenings, as well as the weekends, jamming together on the drums.  Throughout middle school and high school I played the drums in the school band and in parades.  My drumming background gave me a deep appreciation for the percussion side of music and I was inspired by artists such as Mike Portnoy from Dream Theatre, Travis Barker and of course my own father.

Music has laid down the connection for some of my greatest and longest friendships.  My first friend, Woody, and I would spend our days jamming and listening to music.  My dad would also constantly play music throughout the house, on the way to school, and at sports practices.  He would always come home raving about the concerts that he had been to and has been following Gov’t Mule on tour for decades.  I would often sit and watch live concerts and full Dream Theatre albums with him on our television.

I believe that music truly has the ability to help people escape from the stress and worries of life.  It also has the power to motivate and help one focus at the task at hand.  I don’t know what my life would be like without music, but I appreciate it’s existence everyday.
